Tarlà is wearing glasses

The legend says that at the time when the Black Death was one of the collective fears, an outbreak of this disease occurred on Carrer Argenteria. To avoid contagion with the rest of the city, the street was closed on both sides and put into quarantine.
During this time, a friendly character known as Tarlà performed acrobatics in the street in order to entertain the neighbours.
Today, Tarlà, a doll that does pirouettes hanging on both sides of Carrer Argenteria, is one of the most emblematic figures in Girona.
